1. External Rotation in throwing shoulder: more external rotation = more “layback”. More layback creates more range of motion… more range of motion = more potential for arm speed and velocity.

2. Hip/Shoulder Separation: Angle of difference between hips and shoulders creates coil resulting in more potential energy for velocity. The greater the angle of difference, the greater potential for velocity. This coil created from separation helps to whip the upper 1/2 into the throw.

3. Correct Kinematic Sequence: Hips, torso, arm. Hips must get out in front of the torso and arm. Correctly rotating the hips first while keeping the torso closed helps increase torso rotation speed and arm speed.
